Hey everyone. It's been a couple months since I posted a journal--which is usual for me this time of year, so let's sit down and catch up on things, huh?
So no game-changers so to speak, but plenty enough to write home about.
Six classes. Yep, it's busy. A LOT of reading. Thankfully I seem to be passing them all with the exception of Psychology (surprise)--with a D+ on my midterm exam Even worse when I come to realize that that was a freaking elective course that I thought would be easy I got one opportunity to make up for it with some extra credit, which is writing a short story where a character develops psychological problems--so that should be fun, actually.
Judo! Okay, I'm going to be blunt, I'm getting my ass kicked in that class But I'm learning a lot of new things, including some parkour maneuvers, rolls and flips that are actually pretty fun to perform just in case you're going down I like having the ability of knocking down my opponent--it's just in the rush of the fight, I never seem to have the knowledge to completely destabilize my opponent by putting him in a lock so intricate he can't get out, so I usually end up losing. But like folks always say, it's all about having fun and I'm certainly having plenty of that
Even the year started off memorable, when I got invited to WinterJam, a concert event at my local arena featuring various rock and pop artists and some public speakers. What I remember most was standing outside that arena in 20 degree (and dropping) weather for 2 hours waiting to get inside! At that rate, your fingers are so numb they feel they're going to chip off, your legs are burning all the way up to the pelvis. And when the line was being rushed in, it HURT to walk, impossible to run or jog. You could hardly bend your knees! Getting inside the arena it took 30-45 minutes for my body to return back to normal!
But the concert itself was awesome! Just what I needed to live life a little more at the time, being around with flashy light displays, cheering and good music. AND I got to see one of my favorite rappers: Lecrae! So, one of the highlights of the year there!
Hmm, one of the last points I want to make is that, while I almost never talk about this or complain about this, I'm glad that the winter is over, one of the most frustrating winters I've had. Snowstorms cancelled my classes too often, resulting in cramming and rushing the schedule. And walking 30 minutes a day around a campus in SINGLE DIGIT weather is painful and not a good time. I'm happy that it's up in the 30's-40's-50's for last week and next week, and presumably from now on.
Art...
Haven't posted anything visual in a while. Been so busy, but I keep getting a backlog of visions of what I want to produce. But I've been busy and it takes me toooo long to create a piece, particularly the one I'm working on I'll do my best to get something done while I'm off.
Okay, that's it That was probably a mouthful, so peace and thanks for reading

May You Continue
Okay, I confess, this journal is long overdue. I wrote this back in May of this year when Eclipse just launched, when the scale of the Coronavirus was just starting to sink in. But better late than never. Whenever someone replied back to me in the forums months after the fact, I always appreciated it even if I had long forgotten the subject. Regarding Eclipse: I loathe it and no, after 3 months of use it has never grown on me. I had other criticisms about dA, but Eclipse alone has nearly killed my interest in this site. Though I figure the people who have wanted to leave are probably already gone, I'll still share this link for anyone contemplating a new art home: On Coronavirus: I know the anxieties about the coronavirus are still alive and well, regardless of almost everything reopening. There’s not enough comfort to enjoy the amenities that are available, and those who do are probably met with forms of disdain and resentfulness by those who understandably want to minimize the
Jevoa the Adaptor!
Hey everyone-- Big News!
My book Jevoa the Adaptor was just accepted by a publisher and I have been offered my first contract :excited:
So I'm doing my due-diligence in reading the terms and conditions and looking towards hiring a lawyer/attorney so I can attain a complete understanding of the fine print. It's looking good so far! If there are no red flags revealed and I do decide to pursue this opportunity, I'll definitely be blogging about it here.

The Tens
Seeing how it's December 26th, I'll start by wishing everyone had a Merry Christmas!
It's double the major milestones being both the end of the year and the end of a decade, so I'm going to reflect on both.
2010('s):
Ahh, 2010. I think this decade (at least in America) has really signified the dominance and borderline monopolistic nature of technology across companies/businesses and everyday lives, as we push apps, convenience, automated services, and Artificial Intelligence to their extremes. Case and point: Facial Recognition Tech for your computers and phones, Amazon Key, Microchip Credit Card Implants, Alexa & Siri. (which,
Austria!
Something I've always been fascinated with is the notion of traveling somewhere by random chance. The military, site-specific companies, and the in-laws of the spouse you've married all carry that chance to travel to and associate with locations you've had no connection to :XD:
Well turns out in this case, it wasn't an in-laws family, it was my own! I've been united for the first time with family I discovered I had living in Austria =D
We flew out of Chicago, landed in Sweden for a layover, and then flew over to Vienna!
We took two sightseeing tours around the city, visiting various churches, like the Karlsplatz and Stephansdom; and got to
